The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy

5.0

This book is brilliant, devastating and extraordinary. I found the conclusion of the story a little disturbing and uncomfortable but it doesn't change the fact that I found the story powerful. The way grief shapes our lives, molds our lives into different irregular shapes, the way different people react to grief and the way words, one decision, one rule, one day, one incident can change the whole course of a life, in this case 'lives'. This book is really extraordinary.
