 i wasn't ready to say goodbye to this world, so this novella just rounded up everything perfectly. this exploration of having the child of gods get used to the mortal realm, trying to find a place in the universe, learning the rules of mortals. and dealing with it's parents expectations and shortcomings.

❝ Also, don't go into black holes, no matter how much they look like cute little Nahas. They are not cute! They are actually very bitey and kind of mean. ❞

i just feel like N.K. Jemisin has done such a beautiful work of worldbuilding with this series and the way each book goes further than the previous book is impressive. i was surprised, delighted, touched, horrified, and as always, the narrative choices really took this story to the next level. i need everyone to read this masterpiece.
