It’s very rare that I find a romance worthy of five stars. I almost sent it back to the library unopened after reading the synopsis. It has all the elements I usually loathe - fake relationships, marriage of convenience, and wealthy vs ordinary lifestyles. But with so many good reviews and with it being on several must read lists, I decided to give myself a couple of chapters to see where it went.
I’m so glad to have read it! Mostly, there were many very funny moments, funny enough that I actually laughed out loud. I liked that the two protagonists had strong moral centers. I liked that they also stayed true to what was important to them. And I really liked that Anna always spoke her mind and Liam never ran away from his feelings (please, world, please - we need more men to name their feelings and deal with them!).
Any book that can make me laugh like this gets five stars.
