The Sky Weaver by Kristen Ciccarelli

5.0

I'm going to miss this series so much! Every story, different from one another yet still loosely connected, contained thrills, romance, unique magic, and emotionally damaged characters overcoming their inner turmoil. While Safire and Eris were "new," I never stopped rooting for them to succeed!

The story allowed for the world to open up more, a journey for the main characters in more ways than one. The plot was compelling and had some fantastic twists throughout. The ending came quickly, yet still left a lasting impression on me and I was quite satisfied with it. Especially since it connected to the spectacular lore and myths that have always been a mainstay of the series.

As with all the books in the series, the charisma and connection between the two main characters are the major draw. I've always liked Safire, and I'm glad that this was her story. Her personal journey was one I could relate to. I agreed with her choices and believed her actions. As for Eris, she is entirely new to the series, and fits right in. She's complex and morally grey, which put her at believable odds with Safire. Her backstory is truly tragic and filled with mystery, and her upbringing made her actions understandable.

And of course, the romance was spellbinding. I still can't decide who my favourite romance is of the series, but despite their differences, Eris and Safire had great chemistry. I definitely wanted to see their romance blossom and felt my heart break a little whenever they argued.

I honestly am sad to know this will be the last book. I've always looked forward to them, but given how beautiful Ciccarelli's writing and voice are, I know that whatever she comes up with next will blow all of our minds. This trilogy is a treasure and this is the perfect finale for it. Absolutely recommended to anyone who loves dragons, fantasy, and romance!
