Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman

2.0

• 2 ⭐️ • - and I feel generous to give it a 2 tbh!!

Eleanor could be any of us. A sad, lonely, girl. Trying hard to please her mum. Struggling to connect with people as she has scars from the inside and out. Struggling to find love. Struggling to be felt and understood and seen..
Until one day.. somehow without even planning to, she becomes friends with a co-worker she doesn’t even know or even wants to be friends with.

Okay, the premise of this book is very interesting, very intriguing, and in a way, very touching ..
and I do feel sorry for Eleanor, and I get it, what she went through is such an awful and horrid experience for one person to go through and deal with without breaking or crumbling apart.
It’s just horrid! No one should ever go through that!!
And as much as I hate to admit it…
But I just couldn’t fathom her! She was so annoying to me, I couldn’t stand her!
And I want to blame it on “oh, I just wasn’t in the mood for this” but tbh..
I’ve started this late January and I never felt like I’m in the mood for it .. so I guess it just wasn’t for me.
During physical reading as well as listening to it as an Audiobook .. I was constantly frustrated and annoyed by Eleanor and her comments and manners
So nope.. not for me.. not my favourite.. not even close to a good book!
