"I love you in the dark. I love you in the light. I love you everywhere."
Well, this was not the holiday romance I thought I was getting. To be honest, it's what I get for judging a book solely off its cover and not reading the synopsis where the first line says that the MC is "an adult film star". By the way, I am not knocking her profession; I only wish I'd had a little warning before going into this story.
However, in some cases, the steaminess of the book can overshadow the story itself. And that was the case with A Merry Little Meet Cute. Maybe if I hadn't gone into it thinking it was a holiday read (which it isn't), I would've felt differently about the book. I also find it hilarious because in reading the reviews, I see one of two responses from reviewers - 1. There was WAY too much spice, or 2. There needed to be more.
My FAVORITE element of this A Merry Little Meet Cute was the representation and inclusivity that the authors crafted into the pages. And you know what? It felt so real and natural - not like it was forced. I loved the plus-sized, bi-sexual, sex professional representative of the FMC. It was beautiful, and I will be reading the next book the author writes.
🥵 Hallmark meets Only Fans
🤷🏽♀️ Not much of a holiday read
🔥 Character chemistry
🙃 Third act break up
💯 Inclusivity and representation
👍🏼 Audio narration
I recommend reading A Merry Little Meet Cute if you watch Hallmark movies and think they would be much better if there were some 🌶️ included in the storyline.
