Cloud Cuckoo Land by Anthony Doerr

4.0

I really liked Doerr's All the Light We Cannot See and somewhat liked his Memory Wall. I expected a good book in Cloud Cuckoo Land and it did not disappoint. It hit a lot of right notes for me and felt layered. My only complaint was that especially early on, the chapters were so short that it felt hard to settle in. He used short chapters in AtLWCS too, but it made more sense to me there. It was a little annoying in this book initially, but either I got used to it or he stretched things out a bit more later in the book. In any case, it's a very good read. I liked it a lot.
