I was really looking forward to this one as it has some of my favorite elements (magical realism, warring gods). Unfortunately, it fell short for me. I felt really lost most of the time, especially the beginning. It felt like I jumped into the middle of a story and had no idea how I got there. There just wasn't enough world building and set up for me. This was also a second chance romance and you never really got the back story on that, it just immediately jumped to them falling for each other (I'm not a fan of insta love) towards the end I just did not care what happened. I did enjoy the premise and it did have some fun parts, it just wasn't for me.
