It seems the author uses a black character as a vehicle to make some questionable remarks. My other thought pertaining to this is that there seems to be a white savior complex when some of the police, nurses, and neighbors are introduced.

The sociological problems could be me reading too deep into things. I’d love the opinion of a black reviewer/reader. Those things non-withstanding , it’s a very interesting book. The story of Muna’s revenge is a slow but steady build. This girl is clearly very intelligent despite not being properly educated, and she uses the fact that she’s a child to manipulate everyone. This is truly a wild ride. You feel a sense of justice as she tortures her abusive family. And then the end happens. I was very confused when the book suddenly ended where it did, because I was so engrossed I hadn’t paid attention to the time. Multiple people have talked abt that so I won’t beat the proverbial dead horse.
