Dunwich Horror, The by H.P. Lovecraft

4.0

I enjoyed this re-read. It's definitely one of Lovecraft's core stories, and now that I've read more of Lovecraft's contemporaries, I can definitely see how it was influenced by Blackwood and Machen.

It's short but packs a good amount of plot in for a Lovecraft story. I like that it has a false climax sort of halfway through. I loved the whippoorwills. I don't know about the negative stereotyping of countryfolk. That was kind of offensive.
