I loved almost every aspect of this book.

This story is a multi-POV between Hayden and Tenley. Hayden is a tattoo artist working at Inked Armor with a frightening past. Tenley is a worker in Hayden's Aunt's antique shop. The two have awkward encounters until Tenley comes by with a design of a tattoo that she wants inked on her skin. Now having to be within each other's space for a long period of time, Hayden and Tenley gradually grow closer until something new blooms.

What I loved about this book was Hayden. He was brilliant. He felt like a real person. Someone who tried to do everything right, but always ended up doing or saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. He was flawed, ridden with a habit for rambling, and an inability to control his anger, but still having his humor and kindness be apparent.

He had his issues that he tried to keep covered and trying to find the right time to explain them always came out to bite him in the butt.

However, Tenley was different. At times, I kind of wanted to completely skip her chapters, because I just found her to be completely melodramatic. Did I think her POV was necessary? Absolutely. Did I enjoy her as a character? Not really. She was kind of annoying at parts, because she was always like, "but you can't know my past. It's too haunting."

Girl, come on. *eye roll* He's got his own dark past that he wants to let go, but he seems to be just fine. Now, just spill your guts, get it all out, and get over yourself. I know your past was bad, but please, grow a pair and spit it out. If not, it comes back to bite you.

Although, Hayden would come back and be amazing and make the same mistakes, but at least he owned up to it. Tenley was just like, "I wanted to tell you, but like... you can't handle it."

And then Hayden and I would be like, "JUST SPIT IT IUT ALREADY! FOR CHRIST'S SAKE!"

Clearly, Hayden and I had a mutual agreement on wanting Tenley to just spit it out.

Overall, great story. Just Tenley got on my nerves a little bit. Even the side characters were sort of better than her. Except Sarah, I found her to be kind of stupid at times. Giving someone beer and weed does not always help them. Especially when they've taken something before. That's a recipe for disaster.

If I had to recommend this, I'd say whoever likes to read contemporaries with tragic pasts, 3-dimensional male protagonists, and a slow burning love story would like this. Also, just be prepared, there's a lot of sex in it.
