El Imperio by Ryszard Kapuściński

A book that provides endless threads to follow: history, philosophy, personal anecdotes, human profiles descriptions, literature, poetry, and sometimes what must be spy fiction - like when the author sneaks into occupied territory disguised as a pilot. Not since Eduardo Galeano have I folded the corner of so many pages saying "wow, that's really interesting". Or, "I need to google that!" Each page needs to revisited.
