“Tell me something good.” <3.
….
I mean to have a Henri on your side, by your side, holding your hand. His whole personality is this book ( 🖤. ) If you’re still deciding if to start this series, Henri is one reason you should start right now. And my faithfulness to book two which still lives in my mind rent free.
Talking about personalities - this story has two very strong ones which has to be my favorite aspect. Two very opposite ones but at the end reaching out for the same feeling. Both of them have to be protected at all cost.
I didn’t expect such an emotional set up for this book but there’s this one phone call in this book that made me choke up.
A book full of wonderful layers. One that doesn’t pretend to be anything that it is 🖤. I can’t wait for the next one - I fear it will break me. All sunshine Noah…
….
“I just want to throw him down into the mud. I want to filthy him up a little bit and crack the choir boy façade…” // “I feel…shaky? Like I am stepping off of a boat onto land. And also, a little bit like there are electrical currents in my skin, or bees in my chest.” // “Unless you want to—what was it?—fuck around and find out?” // “I look away, unable to face that much affection aimed in my direction.” // “The boundaries I worked so carefully to establish have been destroyed in a single evening, and I have no idea how to bring us back to stable ground.” // “I am in so much damn trouble.” // “I want to tell him not to do things like that—not to treat me so tenderly—while at the same time being desperate for it to continue.” // “Shall I wear the khaki?” // “Ich habe dich mehr vermisst.” // “You are the world to me. You are a blessing, and a gift.” …
….
*I reviewed a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts are my own.
