The Great Beanie Baby Bubble: The Amazing Story of How America Lost Its Mind Over a Plush Toy--And the Eccentric Genius Behind It by Zac Bissonnette

4.0

Having been too young for the Beanie Baby craze, it always seemed to me like a wild internet story I couldn’t fully wrap my head around.
This book have the perfect mix of factual, contextual information to understand the circumstances that inspired the bubble, and the dramatic, shocking details of Ty Warner and his life.
Far more readable than I was expecting, it was an excellent insight into how Beanie Babies caught on, how fads and bubbles invariably end, and a very interesting human element with interviews with people who have collected, and even continue to collect, Beanie Babies.
