I had very high hopes (and expectations) for Circe following the utterly beautiful (and devastating) Song of Achilles.
Miller did not disappoint with her ability to bring Circe to life and develop her voice from juvenile lost soul to a powerful, confident witch/deity. The story doesn’t quite have the heart wrenching aspect of SoA, but I don’t think that would lend itself to this particular mythology.
Personally, I think Circe’s existence sounds idyllic minus the unwanted guests.
Moderate: Sexual assault
