Oona Out of Order by Margarita Montimore

4.0

Beginning in her nineteenth year of life, every New Year's Eve at the stroke of midnight (as it turns to her birthday), Oona Lockhart jumps to a new year of her life. Her first jump puts her 19 year old mind into her 51 year old body. And every year from then on is the same. She has no idea what year she will jump to and what her life will be like when she gets there.

As soon as I heard about this book it brought to mind The Time Traveler's Wife which I absolutely adored. But aside from the time-jumping idea, the books are quite dissimilar. But I still enjoyed going along for the ride with Oona as she tries to make sense of her out-of-order life. I had a certain level of frustration with Oona where I just wanted her to get it together but overall, I enjoyed traveling along with her. And there's quite an interesting plot twist that I did not see coming.

This book is fast-paced and highly readable. I enjoyed Oona and was rooting for her all the way.
