while i really loved this book, where it went, how easy of a historical fiction this was for me and generally understand how this is a five star read for others, i personally found this book a little too long, a little too long winded for me to fully appreciate the entirety of the book.
it was truly great, i loved the way this all was written, it was very beautifully and i adored all the characters we have seen and to figure out how they were intertwined was such a fun and interesting thing! i don't typically do historical fiction but i can see and totally agree why this is such a beloved book. but: if you don't particularly enjoy a plot that just follows the lives of a family, this might not be for you. again, this is very long winded and with some chapters i feel like they were rather redundant? it was rather exhausting to get through this book and i had to take a lot of breaks but im actually rather happy to have read this!
