So, pretty big stakes were set up in book 2. Book 3  should have been the culmination of plot, the facing of betrayals, the final epic reveal of the fate of our heroes.

But it felt incomplete to me. There is one big battle that is supposed to be the Epic Plot of book 3 but all the other storylines were left hanging. The problem with the messenger and the second were solved way too simplistically. The whole mess with Violet barely gets any attention and I find myself very unsatisfied with how her story is wrapped up and what justice (or lack thereof) is served to her.

All in all, it felt like the author got all the good stuff out in the first two books and then ran with the simplest solutions and ideas to finish up the series. There was so much build up for plot lines that delivered very little pay off.

That being said, it's still well written and a decent enough summing up of Our Lady of Fire. I'm happily impressed with this Indie author. I just wish it had been ...idk, less anti-climatic.
