Ship of Magic by Robin Hobb

3.0

The good:
The characters are complex and deep, the different storylines go well together and overall it's an enjoyable book. I enjoyed Paragon and some of his interactions, and the way his story is presented and pieced together throughout the book.

The not so good:
It was soooo long, and the length of the chapters were ridiculous (I think the longest took me around 1,5hrs to read), and the pacing is extremely slow so it really felt like a mental challenge to finish it - even though I did enjoy the writing. Some of the characters I didn't like, for example Ronica (I don't know how she can justify some of her choices), and Malta was very annoying and childish. And the serpents - I still don't understand how they fit into the story other than to annoy and scare Vivacia..?

I think I'd like to continue and finish the series one day, but not anytime soon..
