Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy
5.0
Allright, I'll confess... Tolstoj is pretty good. Even though I might have been a little critical about his personal life, his writing is absolutely genius.
His characters are amazing. Even Anna, whom I expected to be a bit like Emma Bovary, turned out to be more well-rounded. Yes, she has extremely annoying moments, but she also has better moments (Emma doesn't) and the motivation is understandable. However, if Tolstoj skipped the whole Anna and Wronski part and just focussed on Lewin and Kitty that would have been fine too because Lewin is AMAZING. He is so balanced and thoughtful and I really need to be more like him.
