Pages Passed from Hand to Hand: The Hidden Tradition of Homosexual Literature in English from 1748 to 1914 by David Leavitt, Mark Mitchell

4.0

This is an incredibly comprehensive collection of queer subtext (and text) throughout time and genres, and provides a great starting point to look further into some of the selected works. In parts, I would've perhaps appreciated deeper analysis or context of time period and the author's circumstances; while I understand and value the approach of letting the selected passages speak for themselves, some more than others would have benefited from a little more elaboration, to me.
