Walking Disaster
by Jamie McGuire
as a book this was actually quite good. as a sequel it SUCKED.
while getting a view into Travis's head was interesting i felt that this book did not actually give me much more than the last one. while i loved the epilogue the rest of it was all expected and some sections were rushed through. Now i know that as this book actually takes place DURING the last one ... and is actually just the same story. i was expecting to be told more about his time away from Abby instead it was mostly comprised of their scenes together (kind of expected in a romance) but as Travis says most of what he is thinking i was not given much insight into his mind, this is more likely praise for the first book for being so well constructed than criticism for this one but it does beg the question was this book really needed? i am not entirely sure who this book is meant to entice. while the cover was pretty enough to make me want to read it and therefor the first one so much is suggested that you may not understand if you had not read the first one, yet there is not enough new material for those of us that have. Despite reading this from Travis's POV i was still very much given the feeling that this was Abby's story which gave the tone an interesting touch. while some of these chapters i was interested to see from Travis's POV it almost seems like the original book could have just been told from a split view (as is so popular these days) maybe even with some overlap and i would not feel as if i was missing all that much.
