Dead Until Dark
by Charlaine Harris
This is possibly my third or fourth time reading this book and I still enjoy it, possibly even more. Harris creates vivid characters who ring true to their circumstances and position, placing realistic characters in fantasy situations without sacrificing characterization or resulting to cliches. Sookie is a wonderful protagonist and narrator and though she proclaims she is naive she is not a damsel in distress. These books are a great read and I would recommend them to anyone who loves mystery, romance, and supernatural fiction.
