My Thoughts Exactly by Lily Allen
3.0

I went through an intense Lily Allen phase at the start of her career and appreciated how she used this memoir to wrestle control of her narrative from the tabloids. Her perspective on fame is fascinating, especially in that final chapter and the description of Cartoon Lily. There's a no holds barred feel to her messy thread of becoming a pop star, wife, and mother. And the story of losing her firstborn, ugh, just a punch to the gut, especially as it echoed through the next chapter of her life.
