First of all I hate all the covers of the Lux books and this Arum novel.
Secondly I really liked this book because it gave us the other side of the story. This world is too rich and complicated for things to be black and white and that's what we're shown here. It was difficult at the beginning to tolerate the very dark very unapologetic hero, but you slowly come to terms with this one massive spot of gray hero. The heroin is slightly gray herself, she wanted revenge and she didn't care what that said about her, I found her stance refreshing, not sure what that says about me.
I just enjoyed this novel. I enjoyed struggling with my feelings for the hero, when you read a novel you're just ready to fall in love with or at least like the hero, so it was enjoyable to struggle with this gray hero, I didn't hate him! But I felt horrible for liking such a "monster" like that.. If any of what I'm saying is making sense.. I feel like it never does..
