Cress by Marissa Meyer
5.0
Oh boy, how to even start.
Okay, this whole book was WILD. Cress is adorable and innocent and smart, and you really grow attached to her throughout the book, and you just root for her so much?? Not to mention that Thorne is amazing. Yes, he’s cocky, but he’s amazing. Their whole dynamic was amazing.
Prince Kai is more present in this and it made me SO happy because I absolutely ADORE HIM. Seriously. I couldn’t wait for him to find out everything that’s been going on. Speaking of – holy crap. SO MANY REVELATIONS. SO SO MANY. I wasn’t expecting nearly half of the things that happened in this book, and I can say with confidence that it exceeded my expectations.
The chapters where theplan to kidnap Kai was being executed were so TENSE, I was literally anxious and shaking; I felt like I couldn’t breathe properly because I wanted everything to work so so badly. And oh my god, when Cinder and Kai reunited in the ship and he found out she is indeed Princess Selene and he KISSED HER , I couldn’t help but squeal in my room because I love these two so much.
Overall, it was an AMAZING book. I did miss Scarlet and her interaction with Wolf, but oh well. You know. I’m super excited to read Winter, and see how everything will end, but at the same time… I’m not sure I’ll ever be ready to say goodbye to these characters.
