I am absolutely not going back on my statement that there is harmful representation for Dissociative Identity Disorder in this series because there absolutely is. It just isn’t as prominent in this book as in other books I have read with this harmful trope in it, such as The Pawn and the Puppet by Brandi Elise Szeker (which as of right now is still the worst representation I have seen for it, though I’m sure there are books that are even worse).

Spoiler It’s tricky because Scythe is a killer for hire with a psychopathic family, but I would argue he is not an unfeeling psychopath like I originally believed. He does care for a select number of people, and I love that he’s bisexual. There are times where you can totally forget he has DID because of how silent the other personality is. It’s still extremely harmful representation, and while it’s not as bad as others, just don’t expect it to be any different to something like the film Split or The Pawn and the Puppet, even if it isn’t quite as problematic as those representations in lots of ways.

Beyond that, this book was as hot and sexy as the previous book, more so even, and if you love some bisexual representation and scenes as hot as sin, you would probably enjoy this series.
