with a heavy heart, i sit down to write down this review.

what do i say? metaphorically, this book is like that comfy plushy spot in the bed you find that soothes out the aches in your body you never knew about.

so, lets looks back at 11 to (now 18, damn) 17 year old Simran. where did she start to comfort to get over the absolute meaningless and unpoetic existence? books.

harry potter. (not anymore, ofc). percy jackson. the perks of being a wallflower. then, slowly, from books we emerge to television. supernatural. how i met your mother. this is us.

so when you present to me, the classic of all classics in the genre of found family, engulfed in fantasy and thriller, which a heist that gives them the team superiority complex comparable to beth and randall pearson? i melt. i melt. i melt into a puddle of comfort and home and peace and a purpose in life.

leigh bardugo, you have given me a gift, a gift made of my favorite book.
