I loved this book! at first when I read that she was raped I was afraid that the story would be dark, but it wasn't and I think the author handled it very well. Yes her courtship to Daniel was quick but I don't think it was too quick and nobody seemed to gossip about it
I also loved Daniel's brother and how the author handled him being gay instead of hate towards his brother, he acted like it was no big deal which I loved. I loved the scene when Rebecca was taking care of Simon and what she said about bedrooms. I was shocked to find out that her attacker was also gay, but when you think of some of things that he did when he attacked her then the reason makes a bit more sense.
