I gave up on this after about 100 pages. I really thought I would enjoy this when I bought it, and in some ways I feel deceived. One wonders where all the rave reviews and prizes and massive book deals come from when the writing is so bad, so trite, so clichéd, especially the bits about writing itself. At heart, these supposed inspirational quotes seemingly taken straight from brainyquote.com are meaningless and give a feeble frame to a very self-indulgent story. Utterly irrelevant in the current literary climate, and incredibly disappointing for the more discerning reader.
