This was a very light, very sweet, quick read.
Marlee is returning home after college and working for a few years, and is so happy to be back. Not only as it’s always had her heart and is the only place she feels at home, but she will be with her brother and her first love and childhood crush, Waylon.
Waylon was ready to have Marlee back in his life, with regrets of letting her go the first time as he thought it was best for her, he was not making that mistake again and was all in and showed her that. I enjoyed the care, and support they gave one another.
This one low angst, a slight second chance story, brother’s best friend, and finally having the right time to be with the one you have always loved. I will say the ‘conflict’ at the end was a little rushed, and Marlee could have shared some of the ‘blame’ and grovelling-but it was resolved quickly and Waylon was the sweetest!
I did enjoy the writing and the whole Thayer family-they have a wonderful bond and I enjoyed getting to know them and the small town of Clementine Creek. I will continue to read this series as I am very curious about the rest of the sibling, especially oldest brother Hank who is the MMC in book 2!
