Picasso by Gertrude Stein

adventurous challenging funny mysterious medium-paced

What a headache! Stein knows how to write anything and also how to make anything seem like nothing. Every phrase and every idea was repeated, slightly altered, reverted to the original and back again throughout the entire text. It was confusing and dizzying and not only beautiful and intimate but edifying! I can't help but agree with her opinions on the man's life and work. I wish she could have written about his life after the war.
