Stay Sexy & Don't Get Murdered: The Definitive How-To Guide
by Georgia Hardstark, Karen Kilgariff
May Contain Spoilers
”It's often not easy or comfortable, but you get to choose.”
Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Harkstark, the hosts of the popular podcast ‘My Favorite Murder’ share their own personal struggles of depression, anxiety, addiction and talk about their fears through humour and life advice from their own experiences.
I love the podcast, these pair are naturally funny and great storytellers, and their book is no different. In this memoir they take it in turns, a chapter at a time, and give us an insight in their lives. This book is for anyone who has ever felt anxiety, struggled with self-esteem, depression, anxiety and everything else life could throw at you. There is a lot in this book to relate to, from their personal accounts of times they made mistakes, to the times where they were sure they was going to end up on someone else’s true crime podcast to funny life moments. They didn’t leave anything out, nothing was off limits, and for that, fans of these two will be grateful.
Karen and Georgia have become powerful voices in terms of mental health and staying safe. Their no frills accounts of what it is really like to have made it though these experiences, and the fact that they have no shame in it (and there is 100% no shame to have) and the fact they are proactively advocating for mental health makes this book (and their podcast) truly refreshing.
