eleanor_t 's review for:
Magpie Murders
by Anthony Horowitz
IMO, this book was uneven. And sometimes, Horowitz is too clever by half. I like wordplay and a bit of tongue in cheek in an author, but this was too much of a good thing. I can't say I liked his main protagonist, and by the time he got back to the original story (there's a story buried in a story), I had forgotten the main plot points. That may be me, I was reading it off and on, but it shouldn't be difficult to retain details about plot, should it?
I will try another book by him before I move on.
