The Fiery Cross
by Diana Gabaldon
Finally I finished the 5th book in the Outlander series. Normally I would read one of the books on holiday and it takes about 10-15 days for 800 pages. This is almost 1000 pages on Kindle and had to finish it during university, which means it took me months (!) to get to the end of it. I once said how it seemed that every possible thing happened to Jamie, Claire & Co and I wished that sometimes Diana would just tell us about their day-to-day lives. Well, this time I got it and, truth is, I found it a bit boring. Gabaldon is an amazing writer and I love these series and the main characters (still getting used to B & R), but I feel like this time she elongated too much. The end of the book does not really inspire me to read the next instalment right away either, and finding out that that's 1500 pages definitely calls for a break.
