In the introduction of this book, Mackesy claims that this book is as relevant to an eight year old as it is to an eighty year old, and I agree with him. On the surface, the book follows the adventures of a boy as he meets up with a mole, a fox, and a horse, and their many discussions which follow. However, it tells many important life lessons, such as learning to love yourself despite your imperfections, and learning to be kind. The art is simplistic, but still beautiful. The only trouble I had was at times deciphering the cursive writing, but it also forced me to slow down and truly think about the words, which I was grateful for. None of the ideas explored in this book are new or unique, and yet it is a reminder to us in the busy modern world to slow down and not just know inspiring quotes, but to live them.
