Raising Them: Our Adventure in Gender Creative Parenting by Kyl Myers

5.0

As a trans nonbinary person, I enjoyed reading this, although I can understand why some may not get much out of it.

If you're (like me) just looking for a memoir about gender creative parenting, this is it.

If you're looking for a gender creative parenting 101, possibly to give to someone you know who is incredibly binary, this is it.

If you're looking for complex gender theory, a personal guide to raising your child without a gender, or how to deal with tangible threats while doing so, this book isn't that. It's a starting place for such ideals written by a cis-adjacent author. That's not a good or bad thing necessarily, but it's what you're getting here.
