jonsimonsen 's review for:
River God
by Wilbur Smith
Over six hundred pages of page-turning excitement and well-researched ancient Egyptian life dragged down by cliché-filled writing featuring flat characters and awful (although undoubtedly accurate) trigger-warning levels of abuse, racism, rape, and gore. 2.5 rounded up because, despite it all, I read the whole damn thing and might read the next one.
