Another good book by Patrick Ness but not his greatest. I felt it could have benefitted from being 150 pages or so shorter, and I preferred the part of the book before the other characters showed up. I'm in agreement with other reviews that it was a stronger book when it was just Seth and the reader, mediating on his feelings and his perceptions of the world around him.

I'm also just not a fan of dystopian literature in general, so this one really didn't resonate with me the way it might have with others.
