I adore Rebecca Ross. Her writing and her books just feel so comforting to me. I have loved and adored all of her books with this duology being the last of her books that I hadn't read yet.

I think she is just an amazing storyteller, and her books have this storylike feel to them that I do not know how to fully express in words.

I loved the worldbuilding in this. Having two different kingdoms (one kingdom and one queendom) value  opposite things, and having the FMC be from both of those worlds was so fascinating to read about. I am hopeful that we will get to see some magic in the second book.

The found family aspect was also beautiful, it made me tear up.

I will say I wasn't super fond of the fact that the love interest knew her from when she was 10 and he was 18. Although nothing happened until after she was 18 and they were no longer student teacher, it did give me the ick a little bit and I had to actively forget it during their scenes. They did have some absolutely beautiful tender moments though.

After reading all of her books, I can tell that this is her debut but I still absolutely adored it. I would read her grocery list. She can do no wrong.
