Kitchen Confidential
by Anthony Bourdain
challenging
dark
funny
fast-paced
Kind of a rough read, both for its subject matter and knowing what happened to Bourdain. His love of food and the joy he found in it are on every page. He overcame a lot of bad influences and decisions, and from the way the book ends it’s hard to reconcile this hard working food loving creative person with whatever darkness he must have still been carrying.
Also I really hope kitchen culture has evolved since his time, yikes.
