First off, the narration was great. The book was hilarious, the banter that Mabel and Alfie had was fantastic and made me actually laugh at multiple points. But it had a few faults.

The dialogues were few and far in between the inner windings of Mabel's head that I had to constantly stop and go back to the last dialogue to remember what was going on and what was being replied to. The spice was fun, but too little for all the monologuing that was endured.

The issues that Alfie and Mabel shared about having alcoholic fathers and their family situations were just scraped and not gone in-depth like they deserved.

Also, if this is in Britain, nobody would say "plead the fifth", that nagged at me so much...
