They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera

emotional sad medium-paced

2.5

I liked the concept of the book; however, the execution just wasn't for me. Maybe it was because I listened to it on audiobook, but Rufus's written voice was mad annoying (lol). Both boys felt like extreme stereotypes, and I found it hard to connect with either one.

Also, it drove me crazy how Silvera kept setting up different extreme ways for the boys to die, only to have them conveniently dodge death at every turn! Like seriously how are they going to survive an explosion and out run some guy with a gun? It felt cartoony.
