A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini
5.0
Wow. This will go on my list of all-time favorite books. Wonderfully written history of the last 35 years in Afghanistan as told through the eyes of two women.
Despite being a depressing book -- as my daughter, who recommended this, told me, don't get too attached to any of the characters -- and one that shows the futility of war and aggression, I found it uplifting because of the strength of some of the characters.
A good read.
