The Hurting Kind by Ada Limón
5.0
i don’t even know if i should call them voltas, but she has refined and arguably perfected the technique. every poem, i think i know where she’s going, until i don’t and i love where we ended up even more than i what i was expecting.
every poem contains multiple stories that converge and dance until you are left with a lesson. not heavy handed, but a clear statement about how she regards and considers the world. and i love what her noticings and questions make me consider about the world and my regard of it.
