My first full read of the year and it was a banger! I feel like this book is many romance reader's fantasy- meeting a cute guy out in the world who wants to read books with you and maybe act out some of the raunchier scenes…
I expected this book to be lighthearted and a lot of fun, with silly banter and delightfully awkward moments, and it absolutely delivers on this. What I didn't expect was to be so moved and to cry. Holly did a wonderful job of making the characters in this book adorable and oh-so infuriating, but also with depth and real relatable emotions. It just made the book feel a bit more… realistic, without being a downer.
I really enjoyed this book! It's pretty 'meta' in that it's a romance book describing romance books and tropes etc. but that just made it more enjoyable to me. And in a way, it makes this a great read for those new to the romance genre (though might be a little spicy for those wanting to ease in to the raunchier side of things).
Overall, a really fun book.
