This was such a disappointment. I hoped it would be light-hearted and fun but it just fell really flat for me and didn't work. I listened to nearly the entire audiobook at 2.3x speed because I wanted to get it done as fast as possible.
It was way to insta love for me and I know that's the point with fated mates but I apparently don't like it. I feel like the characters changed personalities once they got together. I had an image of what they were like in my head and then they got together and they were too entirely different characters. Reece gets over his dislike and fear of monsters way quicker than I think is possible and realistic. It bothered me that he kept hammering home the idea that he was an asshole for the way he treated Cyrus when they met but they became friends way too quick and Cyrus kept telling him he was forgiven. It was annoying and repetitive.
My biggest gripe though is that there is so much sex and the scenes are so long. I don't usually dislike sex scenes but I just really hated them here. I didn't like how they were written, I didn't like how the characters acted, I just did not like any of it. I will say though that I really appreciate the degradation kink and the cockwarming. Those were fantastic.
This might be a little nitpicky but one of the narrators can't pronounce the name Javier correctly and it was so irritating.
