Such conflicting feelings about this novel. I love the concept, and the writing is good. The character writing is great in that I feel like I really understand the main character, Mickey; problem is, I find her infuriating! Her inability to analyze her situation and self reflect are, I suppose, realistic, but also so frustrating as a reader. And she really never seems to make any progress in that regard. She can't ever seem to see anything from other people's perspective and yet is frustrated when people can't see it from hers. She's pretty self sabotaging. Even when she gets what she wants, she's not happy. All of that is, in a way, pretty darn relatable and realistic. Yet that doesn't stop it from being hard to read. That being said, I kept reading because I wanted to see what would happen with her, and I ended up loving the ending.
