Dragon Bones by Patricia Briggs

3.0

It starts off a bit confusing like there is a chapter or two missing. It also reads like a middle grade book intended for young boys of the D&D or Magic persuasion. However about a third of the way through it finds it's rhythm and becomes a book for adults with all it's mentions of little/young boy rape by lots of the characters along with beating of others. The dragon bones aren't really a big part of the book until almost the conclusion of the book and a mention in the beginning. Also there is no dragon until the last few pages. The middle of the book needs a flow chart to keep track of all the characters and who plays what role but thankfully this smooths out to towards the end. Last the ending felt very rushed, most of the book plodded along at a good pace and then it was a sprint to the end and not very climatic. A fairly decent book all in all for it being among the authors first works.
