The most unsatisfying ending I’ve read in a long time! Set at NASA in the 1980s, Atmosphere explores the first group of women working toward an opportunity to go to space. From their professional experiences to their personal lives, the story slowly goes deeper and deeper while simultaneously building toward a potential catastrophe in space. But the real story is the romance, and while I appreciated TJR’s attempt to put LGBTQ relationships into the context of the time, it also felt like the point was hammered too hard. I wanted more about the stars & space, and only a few scenes really capture the awe of space exploration. While the ending was somewhat predictable, it also left me with a lot of questions about what happens next.
